It was founded in 1970 and holds a Connecticut State License to operate as a facility for the Care of Treatment of Substance Abusive or Dependent Persons. Residents participate in a variety of individual and group activities, and also engage in supervised in house work opportunities according to a daily schedule. The primary goal of all the activities in which the residents are involved is to instill a sense of self-discipline and self-worth, which will enable them to live as responsible citizens upon graduation.
